Important 3rd Party Certifications

Canadian Standards Association High Tech Health Thermal Life Far Infrared Saunas have been safety tested by the Canadian Standards Association to meet or exceed both Canadian and U.S. standards for safety. While US law does not require consumer-use products to be safety tested, OSHA requires products sold for use in businesses to be third-party safety tested by a company on their list of Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories, of which CSA is one. It is important to note that the High Tech Health sauna as a whole has been tested and certified -- most manufacturers of saunas have not had this done and instead have at best one or more components that have been safety tested.
Intertek ETL Listed - Canada, U.S. High Tech Health Transcend Far Infrared Saunas have been safety tested by Intertek to meet or exceed both Canadian and U.S. standards for safety. While US law does not require consumer-use products to be safety tested, OSHA requires products sold for use in businesses to be third-party safety tested by a company on their list of Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories, of which Intertek is one. It is important to note that the High Tech Health sauna as a whole has been tested and certified -- most manufacturers of saunas have not had this done and instead have at best one or more components that have been safety tested.
Underwriters Laboratories The High Tech Health Ionizer Plus has been safety tested and listed by Underwriters Laboratories to meet or exceed both Canadian and U.S. standards for safety. UL is another company on OSHA’s list of Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories approved for certifying the safety of products used in U.S. businesses.
TÜV High Tech Health Thermal Life Far Infrared Saunas and The Ionizer Plus have been safety tested by TÜV to meet or exceed European safety standards. This is a requirement for sale of products in the European Union, which has a reputation for stricter consumer product requirements than the United States.
TÜV High Tech Health Transcend Far Infrared Saunas have been safety tested by TÜV Rheinland to meet or exceed European safety standards. This is a requirement for sale of products in the European Union, which has a reputation for stricter consumer product requirements than the United States.
Restriction on Hazardous Substances Directive The Restriction on Hazardous Substances Directive is a European Union requirement (unfortunately not a U.S. requirement and still fairly uncommon here) that restricts the use of six hazardous substances in the manufacture of electronic and electrical equipment, and is sometimes called the “lead-free directive” (all electronics historically used lead for attaching electronics to circuit boards and is still common in products not destined for the European market). The RoHS directive restricts the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and two flame retardants: polybrominated diphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). The High Tech Health Far Infrared Saunas have been third-party tested by TÜV or Intertek to meet or exceed the requirements of this standard.
FCC Part 15
FCC Part 15 is a U.S. regulation covering the intentional, unintentional, or incidental electromagnetic radiation emitted from electronic equipment. Electronic equipment, particularly anything with digital controls or parts (virtually everything electronic these days), has the potential to broadcast energy that is disruptive to communication equipment or affects the function of other electronic equipment (this is why the airlines request that you turn off anything electronic during take-off and landing). Adherence to this standard is through self-verification and testing, often through a third-party, though that is not required. High Tech Health Far Infrared Saunas and The Ionizer Plus adhere to this regulation.
Conformité Européenne
This mark must be attached to products for sale in the European Union. It is a self-declaration that the product in question meets the requirements of the European Union, which also includes requirements similar to FCC. High Tech Health Far Infrared Saunas and The Ionizer Plus have been tested, meet these requirements, and bear this mark.
